When Firepaw first came to ThunderClan, Dustpaw was one of the most firmly opposed to the presence of this soft little kittypet in his Clan. Formerly the apprentice of the late deputy Redtail, Dustpaw greatly admired the powerful Tigerclaw and aspired to have the same strength and loyalty as the mighty tabby, and mimicked his disdain for kittypets and all that they represented. But when the truth of his old mentor’s death comes to light, Dustpelt must decide what loyalty truly means to him, and whether his dislike for Fireheart is truly stronger than his sense of duty to his Clan.

Billystorm
In Leafstar’s early days of leadership, she faced opposition on all sides, from Sharpclaw’s undermining her authority, to divisions between the daylight warriors and the rest of the Clan. The calm she found in the midst of this storm was Billystorm. For seasons, this former kittypet stood by her side, quietly helping her through the trials of leadership with his love and support, raising their kits with her, and making his place in the gorge with his family and his Clan. But how will Leafstar fare now that her beloved mate can no longer stand at her side?
Sandstorm
Fiery, outspoken, and stubborn, Sandstorm was no friend to Fireheart in his early days in the Clan. She joined Dustpaw and Longtail in mocking the tom for his kittypet heritage. But when Fireheart saved her from falling into the gorge during a battle, her perspective on the tom seemed to shift, and she grew to respect him. In time, this fiercely loyal she-cat earned a place in Firestar’s heart like no other, and the place he earned at her side meant more to him than any of the power he held as Clan leader or as StarClan’s chosen hero.
Echosong
When Firestar first began reforming SkyClan, he worried that there were none among the new Clan who had the sensitivity to omens and skill with herbs needed to be be their medicine cat. A dream from StarClan sent him into twolegplace, where he met the kittypet Echo. Her delicate, dainty build hardly seemed suited for life in the wild, but when she spoke of her dreams with starry cats and showed the courage to leave her home to follow the path set out for her, Firestar knew he had found exactly the cat SkyClan needed. Echosong worked hard to become the healer her young Clan needed, and displays all of the confidence, dedication, and spiritual sensitivity any Clan could hope for in a medicine cat.
Purdy
This quirky old loner wouldn’t have been any cat’s first choice for a guide through the Twolegplace on the way to the sun-drown place. The path he led the questing warriors on through Twolegplace was long and rambling, and they might have gotten through quicker on their own. But no one could doubt this old cat’s heart, or his courage, and despite his questionable service as a guide, the Clan cats came to care deeply for him.
Needletail
Rebellious, defiant, and stubborn from the start, this young ShadowClan cat was never happy in a Clan that she felt didn’t truly care about her. The only cat she’s truly close to is a kit who, like her, feels out of place and unwanted in the Clan that raised her. Will Needletail’s desire for a better, freer life lead her to a better place? Or will she drag herself and her Clan into greater danger than she ever could have dreamed of?
Onestar
Onewhisker is one of the first WindClan warriors that Fireheart met, and through the moons, their friendship grew stronger despite the border that stood between them. Briarlight
Bright, eager, and full of life, many assumed Briarlight would be brought low by the terrible injury that left her unable to use her back legs. But her spirit shone through as brightly as her name, and she proved beyond any doubt that, whether she could walk or not, whether she could fulfill a warrior’s duties or not, she possessed the true soul of a warrior, and a big heart that any cat could admire for its compassion and its courage.
Leafpool
Leafpool is the gentle and intelligent daughter of Firestar, who becomes ThunderClan’s medicine cat under Cinderpelt’s guidance. Despite her vast knowledge of herbs and medicine, Leafpool has a hard time healing her own wounded heart. Faced with the difficult choice between love and loyalty, Leafpool discovers that she may not be prepared to live with the choices she’s made.
