Who are the cats on A Starless Clan book covers?
BY THE EDITOR
The Warriors book covers feature some gorgeous art – but which cats are featured on which covers? Just check out our handy guide below to find out which characters appear on the covers of the six books of A Starless Clan!
River – Mistystar, Flamepaw, Frostpaw, and Sunbeam
The strong yellow light of a new day shines around our feline friends on this cover, fitting its purpose as the start of a new arc. A powerful-looking Mistystar leaps into action at the front, while young new protagonists Flamepaw, Frostpaw, and Sunbeam (from left to right) watch from further back. While Mistystar exudes the power of a leader as she charges across the beach of her beloved river, this book, and this powerful cover art, will be her last hurrah as a living Clan leader, throwing her Clan into a whole arc of turmoil.

Sky – Nightheart, Fidgetflake, and Sunbeam
The lovely warm colors of this autumn color give an almost purple tinge to Nightheart‘s crow-black pelt as he stalks through the forest. Fidgetflake walks behind him on his right, with Sunbeam to the far right. The emphasis on fallen leaves and colors changing on the trees fits perfectly with the cats depicted on the cover, as this book signals a time of change for both Nightheart and Sunbeam as they try to decide where they belong and what sort of cats they want to be.

Shadow – Frostpaw, Tigerstar, and Leafstar
This subdued, ominous cover perfectly fits the tone of the story it tells, as Frostpaw, who features at the front of the cover, finds herself wading into the murky mysery of who murdered Reedwhisker. Farther behind her sit Tigerstar on the left and Leafstar on the right, two leaders with tensions rising between them that threatens to bring about a war, with Frostpaw and RiverClan caught in the middle. And on the back cover, lurking in the darkness, hides a certain shadowy figure…

Thunder – Sunbeam, Sparkpelt, and Finchlight
This gorgeously vibrant cover features new ThunderClan recruit Sunbeam at the front, with her new mate Nightheart’s mother Sparkpelt further back to her left, and Nightheart’s sister Finchlight farther left. While things have been dire so far, this is a story of finding support and love where previously it was lack, and we see that in this lovely cover art as Sunbeam prowls through her new, brilliantly green forest home with her mate’s family there supporting her in a way Berryheart never truly did.

Wind – Splashtail, Whistlepaw, and Frostpaw
The purple-and-orange lighting of this cover is particularly gorgeous, but the prominent presence of Splashtail front and center hints at the darkness to come within the story. Whistlepaw stadns further back to Splashtail’s left, while Frostpaw is on his right. Even as Splashtail stands poised to get everything he killed and lied for, Frostpaw stares straight at him, ready to finally face this threat to her Clan without flinching, and do whatever it takes to bring him down.

Star – Frostpaw, Mistystar, and Reedwhisker
Does the gorgeous orange sunlight breaking through the clouds signal a bright new dawn for a RiverClan finally free of strife – or the sun setting on a tale of woe? Only time will tell. Frostpaw prowls at the front of the frame, chin and tail held high as she goes to face her destiny. The spirits of the leaders her Clan lost at their moment of need walk with her, Mistystar to the left, and Reedwhisker to the right.
