When Ashfoot died in the Great Battle, Onestar was determined to choose a cat from among the former Dark Forest trainees to replace her as deputy, to prove to his Clan that the trainees had his complete trust. Harespring was well aware of why he was chosen, and of the doubtful whispers of his Clanmates, and he struggled between doing his duty to a leader who seemed to have little respect for him and following his own morals. He was willing to go against Onestar’s orders to give desperately needed medicine to ShadowClan. This action earned him the respect of many cats around the lake – but that tendency to value his own judgment over the counsel of others around him may prove more of a hinderance than a help when the time comes for him to make the decisions for his Clan.
Clan: WindClan
Crowfeather
Cold and reserved, Crowfeather leads a life of great solitude. Following devastating heartbreak after heartbreak, Crowfeather becomes more and more cut off to the cats he once cared about. Lost in secrets and betrayal, Crowfeather must take it upon himself to break down the walls he’s so carefully crafted and try and fix all he thought was once broken.
Kestrelflight
Barkface was one of the oldest medicine cats in the Clans by the time he took an apprentice, and his choice may not have seemed inspired to the outside eye. Kestrelpaw was friendly enough as a young cat but didn’t come off as very intelligent, and Jaypaw was able to take advantage of his foolishness to steal herbs from his Clan. As he aged, however, Kestrelflight’s too-open demeanor was replaced by a careful prickliness and distrust. While this better served to protect his Clan and himself from manipulation, it also often kept him from listening to others when they had something important to say, which sometimes left his Clan even more vulnerable. But no cat could doubt Kestrelflight’s dedication to his work, his devotion to StarClan, or his desire to do what’s right.
Whistlebreeze
Loyal, friendly, compassionate, and with a strong connection to StarClan, it’s no surprise that Whistlepaw’s path soon led her away from warrior training and saw her becoming the new medicine cat apprentice of her Clan. She thrived in her new role and easily made friends with her fellow trainee in healing, Frostpaw of RiverClan. But when her loyalty to her Clan is pitted against her loyalty to a friend, what will she choose? And what will she do when ancient spirits begin to walk in her dreams, begging her to help set right a long-forgotten wrong?
Nightcloud
When looking from a ThunderClan perspective, it’s easy to see Nightcloud only for her flaws – ill-tempered, jealous and possessive over her mate, and overly-coddling towards her son. But Nightcloud is more than just the sneer she shows to ThunderClan, and a closer look at her family life might reveal that she has good reason for some of her supposed flaws. But will her desperate efforts to hold her crumbling family together be enough to weather the storm that lies ahead?
Heathertail
This pretty, mischievous young cat immediately captured the attention of ThunderClan apprentice Lionpaw at their first meeting. Heatherpaw was equally taken with the strong ThunderClan tom, and she soon devised a way that the pair could meet more often, away from the prying eyes of their Clans. She was the first to discover the ancient tunnels that ran under the lake territorys, but rather than seeing their use for battle, she and Lionpaw used them to meet and play as warriors of the made-up DarkClan. But when loyalty to their Clans tugs at their paws, will the affection between these two be able to keep them together?
Breezepelt
Wrapped up in a life of misery and spite, Breezepelt is driven by his anger toward his father and half-siblings. Unable to get over his perceived betrayal, this dark tom turns his loyalties from WindClan to a place far more sinister, with plans on righting the wrongs dealt to him by his family. Will his Clanmates be able to see the good in this young broken tom, or is he doomed to be forever trapped in a life he never wanted?
