BY THE EDITOR

We like to stay in the loop when it comes to discussions about Warrior Cats, and we know that some fans have been wondering who it is that works behind the scenes at Warrior Cats HQ.

So, we’re inviting you into our world and revealing all the roles within the lovely team. Remember, Warrior Cats fans are at the heart of everything we do, so keep your feedback coming and we’ll do our very best to keep you happy!

Editors

The editors for the Warriors site create the bulk of the site’s content. The editors write articles, quizzes, and polls, collect fanart and quotes to share, and respond to fan feedback. Our website editors are passionate about bringing you the best Warriors content.

Council of Elders

The Council of Elders is a group of dedicated fans that the Warriors website team consult when the occasion calls for a fan perspective. They have been a great help in developing this website to become the best Warriors destination for fans.

Story Team

The Story Team is comprised of the editors of the Warriors books. They come up with the storyline for each book, and they edit what the Erins write based on that. Keep an eye on their articles to catch the latest Warriors news.

Erin Hunters

Erin Hunter is the pen name shared by the writers for Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, and Bravelands . Check out THIS ARTICLE if you want to learn more about the Erins and their role.

Merchandise Store Team

Our merchandise team is responsible for the design and production of all items for sale in the store. A lot of their ideas come from your fan feedback, especially when it comes to choosing characters. Visit the store HERE if you’re in the mood to treat yourself.

We’re always eager to provide the best experience possible for our fans on our site – so we asked our friends at the highly-acclaimed Warriors Wiki to come up with a list of some of the most burning questions our fans have about the site. They came up with a great list, and now we’ll do our best to answer them for all of you to see. Hopefully this will give you a better insight into how things work here at Warriors HQ, and give you a few hints of what to look forward to on the site in the near future.

Without further ado, let’s start answering these questions!

1. Why should the wiki consider your website a reliable reference for Warriors?

Our editors work closely every day with the authors and the story team to make sure all of our content is up to date and accurate. We’re based in the same office as the story team, so we frequently check in with them with regards to website content like articles or the family tree. Our goal is to be the first and best source of information for all things Warriors, and to give you the latest scoops on upcoming books and other announcements directly from Harper Collins, the story team, and the Erins themselves.

2. Who specifically works on the website? Editors, contractors, graphic designers, etc who are associated with WorkingPartners and the books? This includes information such as who writes the articles, works on the tree, etc.

We have a small team of content editors employed by Working Partners (part of the Coolabi Group) who work on all of the content for the website, working closely with Harper Collins and the Story Team for accuracy and quality. The individual Erins and the Story Team of course write their own articles, and we have developers who help keep the cogs turning behind the scenes and bring each new update, like image polls, fanart challenges, and the new CreatorClan profiles.

3. Do the ones who work with the website read the books and take part in discussions about the series? Do you have any favorites, least favorites, ect?

Our content editors are huge fans of the series! Our goal with this website is to help bring the passion we feel about the series to our work and create the best experience we can for our fellow fans. As for favorites, it wouldn’t be fair to tout one series or book over any others too much – but the editor writing this article has to admit to having a soft spot for Tallstar’s Revenge.

4. How do you decide what is and isn’t canon? More specifically, the Su cites as Vicky had stated those were not canon. Where did the information come from and why exactly is it so similar to the controversial information presented to fans a few years ago?

It was decided by the Story Team when we first started working on the family tree to include information from the Missing Kits posts. We understand that the information was controversial when it was first introduced – however, it has now been fully adopted into the canon family tree.

5. For the tree, where do you get your information that is not in the books, such as DappletailXRunningwind, Dewnose being the father of Sorrelstripe’s kits, etc.

As we’ve mentioned, we work very closely with the Story Team behind writing Warriors. All of the information on the tree, including relationships not confirmed in the books (or that have appeared on social media before) has been checked with, or provided by, the Story Team.

6. When do you plan on updating the family tree in the future? Whether that be after every arc is done, every six months etc.?

We’re glad to announce that, because the tree has become so popular with our fans, from now on we’ll be updating it after every new book release – provided there’s any new information to add, of course. So keep an eye on the family tree any time a new book comes out – you never know what new info might pop up there!

7. Do you plan on more textless official artwork, particularly from the new releases, and confirm who is on the covers in the near future?

We’ve seen how popular textless wraps for book covers are – so from now on, whenever a new cover is released, we will be releasing the textless wrap for the book as well! These wraps won’t be available for download, but we hope fans will enjoy seeing the full wrap for these gorgeous covers. As for which cats are on the covers – keep an eye out, we might start announcing those in the future.

8. How often will you release new book information? Through which partnerships authorize you to do so?

We release new book information as soon as we are able to. Our working relationship with Harper Collins (and other publishers around the world) allows us to get new information about the books out to the fans first, so keep an eye here on the website for the latest news about any upcoming books!

9. What textual evidence is used to determine the personality traits listed on the “Cats” pages?

We checked in with the Story Team for guidance on the personality traits, as we wanted to include a guide on the characters’ personality on their pages. In the end, of course, it’s up to the reader to decide what they think a character’s most defining traits are. We can say that Tawnypelt is fierce or Firestar is kind as much as we want, but it’s up to you whether you agree with that. That’s the beauty of fiction – we all have our own interpretations of the story we’re handed.

10. When do you plan on updating the “Cats” pages with more additional characters and official artwork (for those who lack them like Hawkfrost).

Ravenpaw’s page is still in the works. Of course, once his page is up, fans will have more chances to vote on even more cat pages. So keep an eye out for that!
