We’re delighted to reveal the brand new character art created by the enormously talented Johanna Tarkela, whose art you will recognize from the beautiful Polish book covers. Check out the stunning, official art of some core cats below, along with a note from Johanna about each drawing.

“The main hero himself, and naturally the first cat I drew for these illustrations! I tried to give him a confident, determined look.” – Johanna Tarkela

“Graystripe went through a few sketches as I tried to nail the playful pose, I hope you like the final result too!” – Johanna Tarkela

“Brightheart is one of my personal favorite cats, I was really enjoying painting her and aimed to give her a very sweet and hopeful vibe.” – Johanna Tarkela

“With Jayfeather we tried to lean into the slightly more oriental cat/lanky look popular with fan work, which I really like too!” – Johanna Tarkela

“Fun fact, Tawnypelt has the special role of having her face closely referenced from my own dear cat!” – Johanna Tarkela

“You can never have too big or fluffy of a tail when it comes to Squirrelflight.” – Johanna Tarkela

“I love painting the contrast of black shiny fur, and Scourge’s icy blue eyes made that contrast even cooler to work on.” – Johanna Tarkela

“Tigerstar was a super fun cat to paint, we tried to emphasize a strong and muscular stance, clearly a different build to the other cats.” – Johanna Tarkela
