New art challenge! Draw your favorite Tribe cat
The time has come to announce our June challenge!
It was on the journey to the sun-drown-place where the Clans first encountered the hardy mountain-dwelling cats of the Tribe of Rushing Water – or so they thought. It turns out that their paths had not only crossed long before that fateful meeting, but that many of the first Clan cats had actually once lived in the ancient Tribe, following the Sun Trail from the mountains to settle in the old forest and form the early Clans. The Clans and the Tribe are inexplicably linked in ways they don’t even remember, and they will always feel the pull of kinship and friendship with each other.
To honor this incredibly important group of cats to the Clans, and to honor their upcoming appearance in the new The New Prophecy graphic novel later this month, we’re asking our fans to draw their favorite Tribe cat for this month’s challenge. You many include any Tribe cats from the book that you wish, you may include more than one cat (as well as nonTribe cats accompanying a Tribe cat), you may include non-Tribe born cats like Stormfur or Pebblenose who joined the Tribe, or former Tribe cats who left like Gray Wing or Tall Shadow – as long as you’ve drawn at least one cat who spent time living as a full member of the Tribe (not just visiting like the sun-drown questing cats, or ancient lake cats who never made it to the mountains to become part of the early Tribe like Fallen Leaves), you’re good to go!
To submit your entry, email your art as an attachment to fanart@warriorcats.com with the subject title “Favorite Tribe cat challenge”. Please remember to put your artist name in the email as we will use that to credit the picture. The editors at Warrior Cats HQ will choose their winners and feature their favourite artwork in a gallery at the end of each challenge.
So, it’s time to get creative – good luck!
Once you’ve submitted your art, we’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know we’ve received your submission successfully.
As a reminder, any art submitted for this challenge has to be your own art to be considered. We also can only accept submissions that focus on the drawing itself – we can’t accept photos taken far away with parts of your house or yourself showing around the drawing. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the creative ways you guys interpret this one!
All entries must be submitted by Friday 19th June.
